About the author
Meet the Author: Michael Frank Hemphill. I’ve had several new followers lately – hello and welcome – so I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. Thirty years ago, I started writing Mexico’s Finest Murders from my home in Chicago. This thriller follows Bruce Mitchel, a retired detective and mystery novelist, as he confronts one of the most brutal cases of his career. In the wake of everyday life and my musical escapades, the novel fell to the side. It wasn’t until I retired and moved to Mexico that I found the manuscript again, perfectly preserved in a moving box. My wife, Carrie, and I read the novel over a glass of wine. When we finished reading, she turned to me and said, “Mike, you NEED to complete this.” The ending of the book was a surprise to everyone, including me! I didn’t know how the book would end until I woke up in the middle of the night, struck with sudden inspiration. Mexico’s Finest Murders is a tour de force novel, where everyone is a suspect, and the wrong turn means certain death.
